Join Us

Florida Suncoast Chorus is more than just an acapella ensemble, it is a family. We love getting together each week, and sharing friendships as well as great music.

If you can sing, you're invited to visit Florida Suncoast Chorus and discover close harmony singing! Sitting in on one of our rehearsals is the perfect way to find out more about us, and what we can do for you! There is no need to know how to read music.  We supply you with sheet music and give you access to recordings where you can learn your part just by listening.

You'll have the opportunity to hear us perform four-part, a cappella harmony, and you'll be invited to join us on the risers to experience the music, friendship and fun for which Florida Suncoast Chorus is known!

Our members travel from all over the County to sing with The Florida Suncoast Chorus. To quote one of our members, "It's the love of singing that brought me to Florida Suncoast Chorus. It's the enthusiasm, fun and lasting friendships that keep me returning week after week." Visit us and find out for yourself! Our Chapter motto is "Sing Well, Have Fun, Spread the Word.

During your visit,  we hope you enjoy yourself and choose to join us. Here is  how to become a member of the performing chorus:

1.  Attend at least four Chapter meetings. You want to make sure that Barshop Harmony singing is a good fit for you and something you will enjoy.

2.  On your second visit, our Director  or a member of the Music Team  will help you determine what part you should be singing by giving you a  brief and painless vocal assessment. You will be given the sheet music and a learning CD to " My Wild Irish Rose". You are  encouraged to learn it at home.

3.  On your third visit,  our Director or a member of the Music Team will see how you've been doing with learning "Wild Irish Rose". We may sing it and welcome you to sing along.

4. On your 4th visit, you will be asked to sing "Wild Irish Rose" in a quartet. If successful, you will be given a membership appliation and our Secretary will explain dues, uniforms, etc.

5. After you are accepted as a Member, you will have access to our "Members Only" page which contains all the learning tracks and sheet music. You'll also be assigned a "buddy" who will help you in the weeks to come.

But be warned. Many a fellow has come for an evening....and stayed for a lifetime.
